Any info on a 2011 Colorado Springs camp?
Comment by Jen — January 7, 2011 @ 9:39 am
Jen, details are still being worked out for the Colorado Springs camp, but we are hopeful everything will come together again as it did last year. We’ll have an announcement at the appropriate time, but you can also keep updated on news and announcements of that type by “liking” the Ed McCaffrey page on Facebook.

We may be interested if our 13 year old son wants to commit to playing on his school team next year
Comment by Shari — January 13, 2011 @ 2:30 pm
That would be terrific! Please keep my camp in mind. We would love to have him.
Comment by Ed — January 15, 2011 @ 9:39 am
What is the difference between the Open camp and the Elite camp?
Comment by Sherri — January 27, 2011 @ 9:35 am
The drills, coaches and speakers are the same for both camps, but the Elite Camp is position-specific and geared toward those with several years of experience. Please feel free to choose whichever camp you feel is best for your child.

My son will only be 7 for the upcoming season but we will be there 2012!
Comment by Teri — January 28, 2011 @ 7:55 pm
Thanks Teri. We have allowed 7-year-olds to participate in the past, provided their parents feel they are ready. It’s a parental decision, ultimately, be we are open to the idea in some instances. If you have questions, please feel free to email us at customerservice@edmccaffrey.com.

Hello,
This is not an overnight camp correct?
Comment by Johnny Fimple — February 12, 2011 @ 6:37 am
Ed, my son will hopefully be playing at the high school level next year as a ninth grader. He just finished his 8 year of Div 1 football and has played nose guard, DB, defensive end ( his favorite) QB and full back. He has suggested that he attend both camps. do you think that is a good idea?

My son – who was 7 at the time – attended last year’s open camp and can’t wait for this year’s camp. He has never stopped talking about it. And as far as the camp goes – we’ve been to other camps too but none are as top notch, well-rounded and all inclusive as Ed’s camp. On top of that it is incredibly well organized – I was very, very impressed last year. Keep up the great work Ed – finally a sports super-star and celebrity that continues to be a wonderful role model – thank you Ed and staff!

I am really trying to get my kids to play football on a team is the open football camp available for all even if they havent played on an organized team?
Comment by HILARY HOLMAN — March 11, 2011 @ 3:53 pm
Yes, it’s a great opportunity, even if they have not played organized football before. They will learn about not only football skills, but overall fitness, goal-setting, discipline and strength/speed training. It’s a great camp for all skill levels!

Thank you for the nice comments, Bob! We’re so happy he liked it. Come on back!

Hi. My son is 11. He has played in our small town for 2 seasons. I feel like his potential is not being tapped and perhaps he is not playing positions that he should be. I want him to grow as an athlete and play the positions he is naturally gifted towards. Would the Elite camp be best to figure this out?
Comment by Trisha Taylor — March 23, 2011 @ 11:09 am
Will you be having a camp this summer in Colorado Springs?
Comment by Jennifer White — April 1, 2011 @ 4:35 pm
Jerry, the afternoon Elite camp only would be the best recommendation.
Comment by Ed — April 9, 2011 @ 5:20 pm
Hilary (3/11/11): Yes, the open camp is not only beneficial for those who have a little bit of football experience, but is also a terrific camp for the first-time player. We structure it that way, so kids of all experience levels, especially younger players, have a great time and learn a lot.
Comment by Ed — April 9, 2011 @ 5:24 pm
Trisha,
Yes, it could be, but it is a position-specific camp, so it would be important to identify a primary position and maybe a secondary one so he can assess where he stands. Any more than two positions, though, at this camp would be counter-productive. Hope that helps!
Comment by Ed — April 9, 2011 @ 5:28 pm
Jennifer (4/1/11): At this time it’s still undetermined, but the hope is to have it again.
